Where has October gone? For that matter, where did September go? I can tell you where the Rogers have gone...ALL OVER Tennessee for the District Sectional Tour, along with all of the normal traveling we do these days.That's right. You did just read the word "y'all". But hey, we are from East TN...
And now, after driving more than 7,000 miles in only six weeks, here's a recap of our fall:
Since we were away from home more than ever, we placed a high priority on making lasting memories, especially for the kids. They really are such troopers: spending 6+ hours in the car on any given day, consuming a lot of chicken nuggets with apple dippers and chocolate milk, and sleeping everywhere but in the comforts of their own beloved beds. While they love to play games of naming all the hotels and restaurants we've patronized recently, the kids have a genuine love for what we're doing. This is indeed a family adventure.
The District Tour, like all good things, has come to an end. Mel attended banquets for thirteen sections, building relationships with leaders and promoting our work in Bangladesh. Jillian and the kids had other plans...

We found some wonderful sites for our weekly Rogers Family Fun Days scattered throughout our travels. From a buffalo siting in Memphis, to antique car and train museums, to an incredible safari park tucked along the highway, we definitely succeeded in making memories in the midst of such a crazy schedule.

In spite of all our exhaustion, the near break-downs of our SUV, and actually starting to get a little homesick, we saw first-hand an amazing reminder of why we do what we do. It's so simple, really...
